We've been friends with Alina for more than 15 years. These days, our families also have handmade businesses in common: we make textiles at HelloLittleFox, while Alina and her family create nursery mobiles and night lights at ChilDecor.
That friendship is why we're introducing them here. If you're choosing a canopy, a leaf mat, or curtains for a child's room, smaller details such as a mobile or wall light may be the next part of the picture. ChilDecor offers a few ways to connect those pieces through shape, color, and texture.
The family behind the little details
ChilDecor is a Ukrainian family business making nursery decor since 2019. In their story, Alina describes making her first mobile for her daughter Emilia. Later, she and her husband opened an Etsy shop together.
It's a beginning that has something in common with ours. Our first teepee was made for our own children, too. Both stories started with something for home and grew into work that became part of family life.
Their collection now includes felt and bouclé mobiles alongside textile-covered night lights. Rather than introduce every design, we wanted to share a few details that could work with the fabrics and colors you already have.
Clouds and stars on the wall

ChilDecor's bouclé cloud and star night light set brings texture onto the wall. The looped fabric gives the clouds a rounded, tactile appearance, with warm LED light showing around the edges. You can choose two or three clouds, with optional decorative stars. The stars themselves do not light up.
It could sit comfortably within a room built around plain linen or cotton. For example, an off-white textile and a white cloud can share a pale palette while looking different up close. There is no need for every surface to have the same finish.
The practical details are straightforward: each cloud has remote-controlled adjustable brightness and runs on three AA batteries, which aren't included. The clouds provide accent lighting rather than the main light for a room. ChilDecor's instructions specify mounting the pieces out of children's reach and to the side of the sleeping area, rather than directly above a crib or bed.
That lets the light be its own detail on the wall, with textiles arranged elsewhere in the room.
Sheep, clouds, and a little character

The sheep, moon, and cloud mobile uses bouclé in a different way. Three sheep, two clouds, and a crescent moon hang from a wooden ring.
For a room with simple fabrics, the figures can provide the main decorative motif. You could keep the larger textiles plain and let the small shapes carry the theme. A cream-and-beige palette would keep the combination close in color; a muted pink or gray textile would give it a different direction.
The mobile comes in white, beige, pink, and gray options. Compare the actual shades with your fabrics before choosing, especially if you're trying to bring several pale colors together.
This is hanging decor, not a toy to place inside a teepee or hand to a child. Check the maker's installation and removal guidance, and note that the crib arm is sold separately.
Start with a color you already have
A useful way to approach the room is to begin with one textile you have already chosen. Our sage green leaf mat, for example, gives you both a color and a shape to work with.
You might repeat the green in a small detail elsewhere, or keep the other pieces pale so that the mat remains the main color. The same approach works with a patterned textile: choose one color from the pattern and use it in another part of the room.
These are styling suggestions, not pre-matched sets. Fabrics from different collections can vary in undertone, so samples or clear photographs are worth comparing. A shared color family is often enough; every shade doesn't have to be identical.
Let each piece have its own place
A canopy, a mobile, and a night light each have a different purpose and their own placement requirements. They can belong to the same room without being arranged together in one corner.
Think of a reading area with textiles, a wall with a small light, and nursery decor chosen for its appropriate setting. Repeating a curved shape or a quiet color across those spaces can connect them without adding more things.
This also makes it easier to work with what you have. You may only need one detail to bring an existing palette together.
A personal introduction
We wanted to share ChilDecor as people who know the family behind it. This is an introduction to our friends' work and some ideas for combining it with textiles, rather than a review based on product testing in our home.
